Job Title: Inside Sales Representative – Distributor Sales

About Calumet Carton Calumet Carton Company is a leading packaging manufacturer located in South Holland, IL. Our products include rigid mailing envelopes, custom designed and printed folding cartons and small flute corrugated boxes. Sold under the nationally known Stayflats® and Stayflats Plus® brands, our mailing products are marketed throughout the United States in several ways, including packaging catalogs, distributors and also factory direct. Our custom packaging solutions are sold through a select group of distributors.

Job Description and Candidate Profile Calumet Carton is a well established packaging company, with a relaxed friendly atmosphere. We need an aggressive, confident, high energy, dynamic person to sell our stock line of mailing products and packaging to a nationwide network of distributors and resellers. This is an inside sales position, so the right person must have outstanding telephone skills and be able to close prospects over the phone. They may also occasionally make a local sales call in the field to help develop new business.

Summary of Responsibilities • Actively prospect and solicit new business from potential new customers as well as existing customers. • Follow up with prospects/customers on quoted projects and negotiate pricing within allowable parameters to meet market conditions. • Review new prospects/customers and work with Sales Manager to route leads to sales staff. • Report back to Sales Manager on quote/order conversions, and monitor competitive pricing situations. • Ensure timely delivery by following up with customers during the production cycle • Maintain records of follow up activities in Contact Manager database. • Occasional field sales calls on local prospects/customers.

Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of customer service experience in packaging or related industry. • Outstanding telephone selling skills and attention to detail required. • Thorough knowledge of packaging distribution channels and manufacturing/distributor relationships. • Knowledge of commercial offset printing processes and procedures, including computerized prepress workflow & proofing to customers, a plus. • Able to coordinate multiple priorities and projects. • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, MS Office & Windows. • Ability to work in a team environment without supervision. • HS Diploma & some college work required, BA/BS desired.
