Sold under the nationally known Stayflats® and Stayflats Plus® brands, our mailing products are marketed throughout the United States in several ways, including packaging catalogs, distributors and also factory direct. Our custom packaging solutions are sold through a select group of distributors. |
Job Description and Candidate Profile
Calumet Carton is a well established packaging company, with a relaxed friendly atmosphere. We need an aggressive, confident, high energy, dynamic person, a “hunter” not a “farmer” who will be responsible for selling our full line of products to customers. Ideal customers and prospects are in such industries as food, consumer packaging, electronics, hardware and mailing/fulfillment.

Summary of Responsibilities
• Effectively plan and execute a minimum number of weekly sales calls to customers and prospects within territory.
• Identify prospective medium to high volume end–user customers that value consistent quality, excellent service and creative solutions.
• Initiate prospect contacts, develop and secure relationships with potential new customers to profitably grow sales.
• Develop innovative solutions to address customer packaging needs and develop long term relationships.
• Develop annual sales forecast for territory and report back to Management on progress of successfully meeting forecast.
• Report to Sales Manager on quote/order conversions, and monitor competitive pricing situations.
• Maintain records of follow up activities in Contact Management database
• Submit weekly call & expense reports detailing activities
• Other duties as determined by Sales Management

Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years successful experience in outside sales of value added custom packaging or related industry
• Must have earned at least $ 60,000 annually in past 2 years, half of which was performance pay
• Established track record of successfully selling a product or service with a long complex sales cycle
• Knowledge of marketing distribution channels and distributor relationships
• Knowledge of commercial offset printing processes and procedures, including computerized prepress workflow & proofing to customers
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, MS Office & Windows
• Ability to work in a team environment without supervision
• BA/BS or equivalent work experience required
